Always Improving This Vacation Home, New Dishwasher Arrives

Our kitchen here at the St. Joe Overlook is one of the main features of the home. We love this kitchen and have made several upgrades over the past few years. Last year, most of the appliances were ready to be updated as well as one of the light fixtures just didn’t go with the rest of the house. In fact, the kitchen was the scene of the very first renovation we undertook when we became owners of the St. Joe Overlook.

We have always enjoyed the original dishwasher that came with the home when we bought it, and so we made the decision not to upgrade that appliance at that time. Sadly, this week our beloved dishwasher became the loathed bane of our existence and stopped working after one of our groups checked out. An appliance going out is never fun, but in the middle of peak vacation rental season, the problem becomes more of a crisis. Washing dishes for our guests with 16 or more in their group is imperative for an enjoyable vacation in Southwest Michigan, so we had to act fast before our next guests arrived.

Thankfully, we found a very good replacement dishwasher that could be picked up the same day, and with a little elbow grease we had the new one installed that same day. Problem solved, vacationing at the St. Joe Overlook may proceed without disruption.
