Vacation home upgrade! Meet our new Dining Room Table

One of the key features of our vacation rental home in Southwest Michigan is our ability to host larger groups. We have hosted groups of 20 or more upon occasion and we love finding new ways to comfortably sleep as many as possible here. Though we typically recommend a group size of 10-14, we do everything we can to accommodate our guests however and wherever we can. Upgrading bedrooms, adding bedrooms, adding bed space, and making our floorplan as efficient as possible has been a fun puzzle to piece together over the years.

One piece of that puzzle that received a major upgrade this Spring was our Dining Room Table. Prior to the upgrade, we had a table that could seat between 6-10 and was more of a square peg in a round hole situation. Our dining room layout is a little unusual in that it is more square in shape, has to provide space for double patio doors to open and also serves as a walkway from the Kitchen to the Great Room. Needless to say, finding the right table to fit in this space was quite the challenge.

Ultimately, we decided the best solution was to build a custom table to fit the space. The new table can comfortably seat 12-14 and we are thrilled to get to share it with our guests. This short term rental home that routinely hosts groups of 12-16 people finally has a table that the entire group can gather around.
